chumby使用体验

    首先, 非常感谢黑莓时光友藏兄,让我有机会体验一番美国正流行的chumby,这个玩意我甚至不知道中文该如何称呼之。

    本周三(11.4),有幸收到友藏兄寄来的chumby,我猜本人应该是本次巡回的头一站,不知对不对,先来一张正照,

    刚收到chumby时,这叫一个兴奋,直接拆包,开始捣鼓。可惜,公司里的wifi上网必须设置代理,哎,chumby就无用武之地了(至少目前我还不知道如何设置chumby的代理模式)。可以说,没有了网络,chumby就是一个闹钟,而且还是有线的那种,果然是web2.0下产物。没有网络也不影响我显摆这个高档的玩具,我光明正大的摆在我的工位上(高级闹钟),供同事参观。

    同事们对于chumby的第一反应都是,呦,这小电视真不错。经过我一轮解释,大家猜稍微明白它的用处,不过多数人都认为chumby是一个无用的产品,基本上facebook,twitter,ebay。。。这些功能,手机都能实现,而且手机还不用插线。对于这种说法,我也有一些疑虑,不过既然美利坚正流行,自然有一番道理,可能是我还不会用,需要回家仔细琢磨一番。

    晚上,刚到家,就迫不及待的插电,联网,终于OK,让我来体验一番Web2.0。看图说话:

    chumby的真正魅力在哪里?

 

chumby网站

    在Chumby的网站上提供了很多基于Flash的Widget,如闹钟、新闻、播客、网络电台,还有有关Facebook、Flickr、 Youtube的Widget,这些应用非常实用,也相当丰富。从这个角度看,Chumby 更象是一个WEB2.0社区网络的操作终端,一个电子Widget终端,有了它,你可以随时随地参与到网络社区中,给予和分享各种应用。

    这估计也是web2.0的真义所在,参与与分享。每个人都可以进行widget开发并分享,好像现在都在学习苹果。不过目前widget不是很多,估计将来能更好吧。IPhone和apple store也是相辅相成的。

    Chumby如果在中国销售,我会买吗?现在感觉好像不会,首先,价格上还不是很合适,而且还是有线的,其次,chumby网站的中文的widget太少了,甚至我都没找到,随着chumby的流行,可能插件会越来越多,将来我也许会改变想法。
